Linda Owen

Linda Owen, 70, passed away September 29,2023 at MercyOne Medical.

Linda was born July 23, 1953 in Des Moines, the daughter of Donald and Jean (Russo) Piper. She worked at Mercy Hospital in Communications for over 20 years. Linda later worked for Fisher Anderson as a Sr. Collections Analysts and retired from Marsha & McLennan/Xerox. She was a member of Trinity United Presbyterian Church in Indianola. Linda always had her hair done and was the “Queen of Everything”. She loved going to Prairie Meadows and spending time with family and friends.

Linda is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Randy Owen; sons, Ben Grange and Jake (Mikel) Owen; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Rick (Janet) Piper; sister, Kelly McElvogue; sister-in-law, Rowena (Frank) Brugioni; as well as a host of extended family and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Patrick; and sister-in-law, Rhonda Thomas.

The family will greet friends Friday, October 6, 2023 from 12 pm to 2 pm followed by the funeral service at 2 pm at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Linda will be laid to rest at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Iowa Heart Association in loving memory of Linda.
