Lance Daniel Fish

Lance Daniel Fish, 86, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2025 in West Des Moines, Iowa.

Lance was born October 26, 1938 in Decatur, Illinois to William and Nellie Fish. Lance retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield after 25 years. He was a long-time member of First Federated Church where he served on the elder board, sang in the choir and musicals, as well as taught both Precepts bible studies and 12th grade Sunday school. He was passionate about his relationship with the Lord and never ceased to share this love with whoever God placed in his path. Lance was committed to discipleship. His long-time men's group, affectionately known as the "Oxymorons," was a group close to his heart. An avid Cubs fan, Lance loyally followed the team throughout his life, and his enthusiasm for the game was matched only by his love for his family and faith.

Lance is survived by his children, Andrea (Darwin) Rouw, Mark (Erin) Fish, and Lisa (Brad) Potter; grandchildren, Abi (Evan) Breuer, Maddie (Jack) Eckert, Caleb Rouw, Callie (Cale) Carlson, Carson, Andrew, Etta, Zoe, and Cameron Fish, Jacob (River) Hughes, and Brooklynn Hughes; great-grandchildren, Everly, Crew, Calvin, Emerson, Ellis and two on the way; sister-in-law, Beverly Fish; and a host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Janine Fish; infant son, Daniel Fish; brothers, William Fish and John Fish; and sister, Maxine Huffman.

Celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 16, 2025 at Waukee Community Church, 215 N Warrior Lane in Waukee, Iowa. Lance will be laid to rest next to his wife at Macon County Memorial Park, 5700 West Main Street in Decatur, Illinois
