Loren Dale Zimmerline, age 90, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 5, 2024, at his home with his family by his side.

Loren was born May 1, 1934, in Adair, Iowa to Fred and Alice (Armstrong) Zimmerline. He proudly served in the United States Air Force. He met the love of his life, Vernetta Louise Miller, while roller skating and they were married in 1974. He enjoyed staying active and participated in RAGBRAI for four years.

Loren had a passion for cars, especially Chevys. He loved collecting antique cars and building model cars. He enjoyed reading car magazines, all about Chevys, of course. Loren was a simple man who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life.

He is survived by his wife, Vernetta; daughter, Alicia Baxter; grandchildren, Katelyn (Amado) Balvanera, Lauren Zimmerline, Madison Baxter, Conner Baxter, Dakota Harding, and Logan Harding; great-grandchildren, Amado, Lorenzo, Adriel, Aaron, Hayes, Chase, Laylee, Na’Ryia, Nicholas, and Ny’Ana; siblings, Lee Zimmerline, Sherilyn Moore, and Debra Bauer; as well as many nieces, nephews, other extended family, and friends.

Loren was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Alice Zimmerline and his brother, Rex Zimmerline.

A private family burial will take place at Iowa Veterans Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
