Levi Schumacher

Levi Dallas Schumacher, age 25, passed away Sunday, February 15, 2026, at his home in Des Moines from an unforeseen medical condition.

Levi was born March 31, 2000, to April and Corey Schumacher. He was raised in Des Moines and was very athletic. He participated in many sports when he was younger, including soccer and baseball, with BMX racing being his favorite. He even briefly tried karate. Levi was a mountain man at heart and nothing made him happier than spending time outdoors. His favorite pastime was fishing. He also loved hunting for morel mushrooms and camping.

Levi’s unexpected death has left a void for his family. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him. He is lovingly remembered by his parents, April and Corey Schumacher; his siblings, Ashley (Greg) Laraia and Cody Schumacher; his nephews, Lincoln and Leo Laraia; his paternal grandmother, Kat Groezinger; his aunt, Tonya (Brian) Heldt and their two sons, Austin and Justin; his great-aunt, Joleen (Randy) Stephenson; and a host of other cousins, extended family, and friends.

Levi was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Don Schumacher and his maternal grandmother, June Mason.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by funeral service at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Levi.
