Linda J. Culley

Linda Joyce Culley, age 75, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2025.

Linda was born April 23, 1950, in Truman, Arkansas to Ollie Ruden Cole and Betty Travis Cole. She graduated from East High School in Des Moines. During her working years, she was employed by Hillside Nursing Home, Sec Taylor Stadium, and Embassy Suites Hotel.

Linda loved going to the Iowa State Fair. She enjoyed Bingo, the horse races at Prairie Meadows, and going to concerts. She was fun-loving and a very caring person. If you were a stranger to her, you quickly became a friend. She was a jokester and could always make you smile. Linda’s greatest love was her family. She loved Miller Family Cookouts and every holiday was always a big party. Linda was loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter, Melinda Culley; siblings, Frank Schoff (Andrea) and Janell Anderson; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Linda was preceded in death by her father, Ollie Cole and mother, Betty Jones.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Monday, September 8, 2025, also at Hamilton’s, and will conclude with burial at Vandalia Cemetery.
