Kim Alan Gicoff, 65, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. He was born March 13, 1958, to Melvin and Joy (Denton) Gicoff in Des Moines.

Kim graduated from Valley High School and earned his BA in Marketing and Finance from University of Northern Iowa (UNI). Kim’s passion for education was evident throughout his life and he always wanted to read, learn, and educate himself. While both in high school and in college, Kim was a key member of the golf team where some of those years were championship teams.

Kim went on to have a successful professional career working in various roles in the food /beverage and multi lines insurance fields with Nabisco Foods, Pepsi, Nationwide and Farm Bureau to name a few.

Kim enjoyed living a less complicated life. He was known for his contagious smile to all those that knew him and will be greatly missed. He enjoyed getting to know you. Along with his passion of golf, Kim enjoyed volunteering at church delivering food in need over the holidays, as well as support for those who had come up against hard times due to PTSD, drugs, and alcohol. He also had a true love for animals and you may have even seen him walking the Raccoon River.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Kim is survived by his sister, Jodi Allman (Adam), and their beloved puppies, George, and Leo, as well as many cousins and several very close friends he considered family.
