Kevin Alan Alderman

Kevin Alan Alderman, 70, passed away on June 7, 2026 at his home in Urbandale, Iowa after a courageous 7-year battle with cancer.

Kevin was born on March 1, 1956 to Arda (Maynard) and Maurice Alderman in Cedar Falls, Iowa. He graduated from Cedar Falls High School where he was a track star, and to this day holds records. He then attended college at UNI and then took a position in lumber industry.

On October 2, 1976, Kevin married the love of his life, Roxanne Boatright. They would have celebrated 50 years of marriage this year.

Kevin was a salesman in the construction industry for most of his life and became a successful business owner in 2011 when he purchased Wood Roofing Company.

Kevin was a loving father spending time sledding, ice skating, camping and attending the kids’ activities. In later years, Kevin and Roxanne enjoyed spending time at lake Okoboji. Kevin was also a faithful servant of Jehovah for 42 years. He touched many lives with his wisdom and humor.

He is survived by his wife, Roxanne; his three sons, Jay Alderman, Dustin (Andi) Alderman and Chase (Taylor) Alderman; grandchildren, Jailyn (Zachari) Thomas, Hailey (Blayne) Davis, Grant Alderman, Cash Alderman, Isaac Alderman, and Gibson Alderman; Kevin was looking forward to meeting his first great-grandson; sisters, Linda (Roger) Benning and Janna (John) Thierman; brother, Dan (Jackie) Alderman; and 18 nieces and nephews.

Kevin was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be held Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, IA with visitation from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. followed by the memorial service at 1:00 p.m. Private burial will be at McDivitt Grove Cemetery in Urbandale.
