Keith Larue Sage
August 8, 1932 – October 2, 2025

Keith Larue Sage, 93, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025. He was born in Bedford, Iowa, on August 8, 1932, to Otto and Mary Sage.
Keith proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, where he was stationed as a Military Police Officer at Forbes Air Force Base in Topeka, Kansas. During his service he traveled to Japan where he trained as a judo instructor and met his wife, Ann.

Following his service, Keith dedicated many years to the United States Government as a Border Patrol Agent, an Inspector in the Department of Agriculture, and an Immigration Officer. His career took him around the world, eventually landing him and his family in Guam where he quickly became an adored local, owning restaurants, racing sailboats, and helping many in the community navigate the “perils” of US visas as an Immigration Consultant. He retired there to enjoy the simple pleasures of island and family life before eventually returning home to Iowa.

Keith had a love for adventure and a deep appreciation for life’s simple joys. He was an avid sailor and golfer, and he and his beloved wife, Ann, shared a passion for square dancing and traveling. Together, they explored Europe, Asia, and the Holy Land, creating cherished memories along the way.

He is survived by his daughters, Nina (Jeremy) Evans, Teresa Sage, and Amy Bolos; six grandchildren, Aaron (Becca) Davis, Jayne (Ben) Ng, Keith (Konomi) Sage, Claire (Josh) Goetz, Camille Bolos, and Jonathan (Skylar) Bolos; and five great-grandchildren, Gemma, Alyssa, and Luke Ng, Avery Sage, and Audrey Goetz. He is also remembered fondly by many nieces and nephews.

Keith was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 62 years, Ann; his parents; siblings Kenneth, Dwayne, Dwight, and Alice Duff; and nephew Darrell Duff.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Luther Memorial Church on the lower level, 1201 Grandview Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Luther Memorial Church.

Keith will be remembered for his gentle spirit, sense of humor, and unwavering love for his family. A life well-lived and deeply loved.
