Kathleen Countryman

Kathleen “Kathy” M. Countryman,78, passed away on January 11, 2024 at Arbor Springs in West Des Moines, Iowa.
Kathy was born September 30, 1945 to Daniel and Leslie McLaughlin in Minneapolis, MN. Kathy married Denny Countryman on March 21, 1973.
Kathy worked at the University of Minnesota and developed their patient advocate program. Kathy later retired from Wells Fargo in West Des Moines. After retirement, Kathy served as the Townhome Association President for ten years. Kathy was always there to lend a helping hand. She never met a stranger.

Kathy is survived by her stepchildren, Mike Countryman, Centerville, MN, Joan Countryman, (Gina Hughes), Lakeland, MN, Nancy Lindberg (Randy), Lakeville, MN, and Bob Countryman (Abby) Bloomington, MN; sister-in-law, Kari Anne McLaughlin, Gig Harbor, WA; two nieces and two nephews; and nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, with another arriving in March.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and four brothers.

A private gathering to celebrate Kathy’s life will be scheduled for family and friends in the near future. Her body was cremated and remains will be interred at Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN.
