Karen Sue Graziano

Karen Sue Graziano, 85, of West Des Moines, Iowa passed away February 18, 2025 of heart disease.

Karen was born September 9, 1939 to Harold and Elizabeth (Montgomery) Christensen in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Karen grew up in Clarinda, IA and graduated from high school in 1958. She attended the Iowa School of Beauty College in 1959 and married her husband Louis in 1960. She worked as a beautician and in the jewelry department at J.C. Penny Department Store for many years.

Karen enjoyed golfing and trips to the casino. She was a wonderful mother, wife and good cook! She took pride in herself and never left her residence without her shining beauty and smile.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Louis; daughter, Kim (John) Graziano-Boelkes; son, Tony; granddaughter, Ashlyn; sister, Connie Lovell; brother, Steve Christensen; and cousin, Jim Montgomery.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1627 Grand Avenue in West Des Moines, IA with visitation from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Jordan Cemetery in West Des Moines.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Catholic Charities or Sacred Heart Catholic Church in loving memory of Karen.
