Karen Elaine Clark

Karen Elaine Clark, 81, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2025. Honoring her wishes, no funeral service will be held.

Karen was born August 17, 1943, in Des Moines, Iowa to Gilmore and Eva (Backstrom) Doggett, one of seven children. Karen married Terry Clark and the couple celebrated 61 years together until his passing in 2021. Karen worked as a bookkeeper for Florist Distributing, Inc. until her retirement in 2001. Karen was kind, generous, and quick to share her opinion. She enjoyed music, reading, gardening and doing anything creative. She had a big heart and loved her family. She had the most wonderful sense of humor and will be deeply missed.

Karen is survived by her children, Cindy Sowder and Tami (Todd) Nielsen; grandchildren: Brandon Miller, Zac Seaman, Ben (Jessica) Seaman, Jake Seaman, Victoria Seaman, Jack (Hannah) Nielsen, Brad (Marcy) Nielsen, Sam Nielsen and Max Nielsen (Emma Westphalen); 11 great-grandchildren; her sister, Joyce Doggett; brothers, Mike (Judy) and Jim (Jan) Doggett; and many nieces and nephews.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Terry; daughter, Lori Clark; brothers, Bill and Lincoln Doggett; sister, Jeanine Pighetti; and granddaughter, Elizabeth Seaman.
