Klee D. Reamsnyder, Jr.

Klee Daniel Reamsnyder, Jr., age 81, passed away Friday, January 5, 2024, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Klee was born February 13, 1942, in Waukegan, Illinois to Klee, Sr. and Dorothy (Karr) Reamsnyder. He married his high school sweetheart Jo on April 22, 1961. Klee proudly served his country in the United States Army as a COC 62ND ENGR BN in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Klee was a Supervisor for Casey’s General Stores for 16 years. After working for Casey’s, he was a self-employed carpenter.

Klee enjoyed being around family. He loved riding motorcycles and competing in Hill Climbing and Enduro Events. He was a member of Des Moines Enduro Riding Club. Klee also enjoyed fishing, camping, and after retirement, Klee and Jo enjoyed traveling.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Barbara Jo Reamsnyder; daughter, Cindy (Mike) Denning; son, Klee Daniel Reamsnyder III; and daughter, Tammy Pearson. He is also survived by his granddaughters, Andrea (Greg) Zubulake and Alyssa Denning; great-grandsons, Gavin and Coen Zubulake; sister, Pat (Jamie) Hunt; and several nieces and nephews.

Klee was preceded in death by his parents, Klee Reamsnyder and Dorothy Spencer; stepfather, Jack Spencer; and nephew, Tony Hunt.

Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m., followed by funeral service at 12:30 p.m., Monday, January 15, 2024, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. A private family burial will take place at Iowa Veterans Cemetery on Tuesday, January 16, 2024.
