Joyce Ann Raudabaugh
February 01, 1952 — September 11, 2024
Joyce Raudabaugh of Urbandale, Iowa passed away on September 11, 2024 at Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.
She was born in 1952 in Waterloo, Iowa to Harold and Wilma Raudabaugh. Joyce attended West Waterloo High School and after graduation she attended Gates Business College in Waterloo. After college she moved to Des Moines, Iowa where she began working for Equitable of Iowa. She retired in 2017 as an Employee Benefits Specialist.
In her youth, Joyce enjoyed spending time with her friends in Girl Scouts. The troop experienced one big adventure when they rode several hours in a bus without air conditioning to attend an international gathering of Girl Scouts and to see Mexico. She also enjoyed spending time with her cousins at frequent family gatherings.
Sometimes Joyce would travel for her work but the best trip of all was winning a free trip to Hawaii. Joyce took her mother on the trip and they both enjoyed talking about it and showing the photographs they took.
Joyce enjoyed spending time with family and friends, working on crafts, going to craft shows, collecting teddy bears, playing board games, playing bingo for funny prizes at family Christmas gatherings, reading books, and watching Hallmark Movies. Fun times with her will be missed.
Joyce is survived by her two brothers, Jim (Pauline) and Scott (Kim); two nephews, Benjamin and Andrew; two nieces, Amber and Kristin, and several cousins.
Joyce was preceded in death by both of her parents.
Joyce was modest in living her life and continued that by requesting that no service be held. She will be laid to rest in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Waterloo, Iowa.
Memorials can be made to The Beacon Women's Shelter in Des Moines, Iowa.

I am so sorry to hear about Joyce's passing. She was such a kind, warm hearted, lovely woman. She was also patient, helpful, and genuine. I worked with Joyce at ING for many years and loved seeing her friendly smile in the hallway. I still have Christmas ornaments that she made and generously shared with her co-workers. My deepest condolences to her family as you mourn the loss of a wonderful person, sister, aunt, cousin.

I will always carry fond memories of my cousin Joyce. We were a close family growing up in the Waterloo area and shared many fun holiday gatherings with her and her brothers. Jim and Scott - our thoughts are with you.
