John "Jack" C. Davidson
July 16, 1951 — June 11, 2026
John "Jack" C. Davidson passed away on Thursday June 11, 2026, surrounded by friends and family at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
Jack was born in Des Moines, Iowa on July 16, 1951 to John and Alma Davidson. He married his former wife, Debbie (Ghee) Langhman of Des Moines, and together they shared two sons.
Jack was a master auto body technician and he owned several auto and motorcycle repair businesses over his lifetime including Sundance Cycles of Des Moines and most recently Transformers Mobile in Des Moines.
Jack was always helping his family, friends and strangers, often fixing a car for a trade or free of charge. He had a passion for teaching the skills he had learned over a lifetime and helping others get a start in the trades. Jack was also a storyteller. He loved telling friends and family stories about his experiences, both past and present, especially those that could surprise you, cause an eyeroll, and make you laugh all in the same breath.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, John and Alma Davidson; brother, Mike Davidson; and sisters, Mary Ann Van Zandt and Madonna Wood.
Jack is survived by his sons, John (Candi) Davidson and Mike Davidson; sister, Sandy Davidson; grandchildren, Sidney and Sophia Davidson; and several nieces and nephews.
To honor his contributions to the car and motorcycle scene, John and Mike ask family and friends to shine up your car, truck or motorcycle, throw on a Hawaiian shirt and join us at Hamilton’s Funeral Home on Westown Parkway to escort Jack to his final resting place in Resthaven Cemetery. On Saturday, June 20, 2026, we will meet at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway, at 11:15am, with the procession to Resthaven Cemetery beginning at 11:30am. After the procession there will be a short service at the burial site beginning at 12:00pm. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Mike Rowe Works Foundation in Jack's memory.
