Joan Anna Magdalena Wolfers Utz was born on February 23, 1932. Her beautiful name echoed the beautiful person she was. She possessed an outgoing charm that naturally drew people to her, and she made friends very easily. Her social talents lent themselves to making her a natural organizer and leader of many charitable causes as well as leading many organizations within her church.
Joan loved her church community, and was a loving and devoted Sunday school teacher, and also taught summer Bible school. Joan led Bible studies as well. Being active in her church gave her great joy.
Her active support and work for the Republican Party was noticed and recognized by a number of upper officials within the organization.
In her retirement community, she was recognized and appreciated for her loving work of welcoming new and possible residents into the retirement community with open arms, and helping them to enjoy their new lives. Joan headed as many activities as she had time for, making many residents feel a part of the community.
The heart that God gave her was so large. Joan used it to make others happy and appreciated. Her heart is her legacy and it will be remembered.
