Jessie Louise Dick

Jessie Louise Dick, 99, of Des Moines, Iowa passed away on March 7, 2025 at Fleur Heights Care Center. A visitation will be held Monday, March 24, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with a Memorial Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Jessie will be laid to rest at Glendale Cemetery.

Jessie was born on May 10, 1925 to Orville and Esther (Yelton) Johnson in Kinkaid, Kansas. She met the love of her life, Robert Elvin Dick, and they were married on August 7, 1944. Together they created a loving family and enjoyed family gatherings. Over the years, Jessie held several different jobs but her favorite was child care. She attended Fort Des Moines Open Bible Church.

Jessie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; daughter, Jane Irene; great-grandson, Joel; son-in-law, Harold Rexroat; and her brothers and sister.

She is survived by her children, Cheryl Rexroat, Barbara Last (Mike), Connie Sater, Anita Morris (Russell) and Robert Dick (Dawn); as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

The family would like to recognize Fleur Heights Care Center and their staff for all the love and care they provided to Jessie over the seven years she lived there. In addition, thank you Suncrest Hospice for the care provided the last three weeks of her life.
