Jeffrey Johnson

Jeffrey Johnson, of Ankeny, IA, peacefully departed this world on December 26, 2023, surrounded by the warmth of his family at home.

Born on September 17, 1942, to Theodore and Adelyne, Jeffrey's life was marked by a deep commitment to service and a passion for creating meaningful connections with others. A proud Navy veteran, he extended his dedication by volunteering countless hours at the VA Hospital, offering support to those who needed it most.

Jeffrey's zest for life was evident in his varied interests. An ardent Minnesota Vikings fan, he found joy in the camaraderie of sports. His love for dance, scenic drives, and the great outdoors spoke to his appreciation for the simple pleasures of life. Jeff was also proud of his 40 years of sobriety.

Jeffrey is survived by his devoted wife, Mary; children, Brenda (Rick), John, Butch (Nadine), Echo (Terry), and Sheila (George). His legacy extends through 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, a testament to the love and wisdom he shared. He is also fondly remembered by his brother, Chuck (Chris); sister, Michele; and many close nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Adelyne; beloved sister, Shari; and his cat, Tanner. Jeffrey's departure leaves behind a legacy of love and commitment to family.

In accordance with his wishes, Jeffrey will be cremated, and a private family burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family, honoring the memory of a man whose kindness and generosity touched the lives of many. As we celebrate Jeffrey's life, let us remember the joy he brought to those around him and the enduring love that will forever be etched in our hearts.
