Jean E. Cruikshank

Jean Ellen Cruikshank, 72, passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer on August 27, 2023 as a Hospice patient at the Urbandale Care Center.
Jean was born on May 1, 1951 and moved from Arkansas with her parents, D. Ralph and Edith Johnston; sister, Joy; and brothers, David, Roger (Anita) and Peter (Becky) to Des Moines, where her father managed the Commercial Printing Division of the Des Moines Register and Tribune. After graduating from Tech High School, Jean was employed at Farm Bureau for 30 years prior to her retirement in 2016.
Jean married Ron Cruikshank of Des Moines in 1973 who was her devoted and beloved husband of 49 years. Jean is survived by many nieces and nephews and was preceded in death by her parents and sister Joy.
