Janice Worley

Janice Worley 83 of Des Moines, IA went home to be with the Lord, on August 20, 2023. A visitation will be held on August 29, 2023, before the service from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., at Fellowship Baptist Church 1503 SE 6th St. Des Moines, IA. A memorial service will be held at the church, immediately following the visitation, at 10:30 am. Janice will be laid to rest at Unionville Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
Janice was born in Sullivan County MO and grew up in Unionville, MO. Janice met the love of her life and husband of 63 years James at the Unionville town square and were married on October 21, 1956. They moved to Des Moines, IA in 1957, where they resided until their last days together. She is now reunited with her husband, James.
Janice received Christ as her Savior in January 1965. She liked to be involved in the church and loved teaching Sunday school and working in the church office. She was an avid gardener and passed her green thumb off to all five of her children. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and other various crafts.
She is survived by her children James (Sherry) Worley, Anita (Perry) Washburn, Robin (John) Meyer, Richard (Beth) Worley, and Ruth Worley. She has 14 grandchildren, 8 great-granddaughters 2 great-grandsons, and another great-grandchild on the way. She is also survived by her sister Wanda Strother of Denver, Co. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Dorothy McNabb; and grandson, Troy Worley.
