James R. Stewart, Jr.

James Ray Stewart Jr., age 17, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2026. Though his time was much too short, he touched many lives.

James was born January 28, 2009, in Des Moines, Iowa to James Ray Stewart Sr. and Christine Odom. James was a very intelligent young man. He had graduated from Woodward Academy on Friday, May 22, 2026, and was looking forward to continuing his education at a trade school. He was proud to have passed his permit test. James was very friendly and maintained friendships with people from all sides of town. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and playing video games. He has a big family who are all very proud of his accomplishments. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

James will be remembered by his mother, Christine Odom; father, James Stewart Sr.; brothers, Bradley Stewart, Zachary Stewart, and Austin Stewart; nephews and niece, Xander, Devayne, Elijiah, Isaiah, and Kara; aunts and uncles, Cindy (Kevin) Kirker, Tammy Noble, Eugene Odom, and William Odom; and a host of other extended family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Connie Hodge, Ron Hodge, and Linda Odom; and his best friend and brother, Chad Nicholson.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of James.
