James Thomas Lyles, Sr.

James Thomas Lyles, Sr., age 74, was born October 16, 1949, and passed away Sunday, November 26, 2023, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. He loved hotrods, both building and driving them.

He is survived by his children, James Lyles, Jr., Ricky (Amanda) Lyles, Kayla Stanley, and Shara Huffman; step-daughter, Tonia (Obie) Smith; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family.

James was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy; grandmother, Jimmie; daughter, Christina Fetters; and his brother, Floyd Epton.

Cremation will occur and an urn burial will take place at Glendale Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 14, 2023.
