James "Jim" W. Bohall

James “Jim” W. Bohall passed away on December 29, 2023, at Unity Point Health - Iowa Lutheran Hospital at the age of 75.
Jim was born on April 4, 1948, in Des Moines to Burrel and Geneive (Bettis) Bohall. He graduated from Norwalk High School in 1966. Jim went to work for the Des Moines Register and Tribune at the age of 18 as a flyboy and worked his way up to Pressroom Manager and continued working there until his retirement in 2015. He was a member of the Eagles.
Jim enjoyed being in the sun and traveling to numerous dirt tracks. He was an avid Denver Broncos fan. He was a hard worker who in his younger years typically held 3 jobs at any given time just to provide for his children. He loved animals but above all, loved time spent with his family.
Jim is survived by his daughters, Jessica Bohall, Angela (Brian) Frette, and Elizabeth (Brian) Hiveley; grandchildren, Patrick (Jessica) Malloy and Andrew (Miriah) Ried; five great-grandchildren; siblings, Billie (Gayle) Blackford and Mike Bohall; and fur baby, Lexi.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Dick Bohall and Dale Bohall; and fur baby, Bo.
The family will greet friends on Thursday, January 4, 2024, from 4 pm to 7 pm at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 5, 2024, at 10 am at the funeral home. Jim will be laid to rest at Webb Cemetery in Norwalk, Iowa.
