Joseph "Joe" John Carra

Joseph “Joe” John Carra, 79, passed away on October 1, 2023, at his home.

Joe was born on May 15, 1944, in Sicily, Italy to Jack and Orsalina (Madonia) Carra. He graduated from Lincoln High School and proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1963 to 1968. He met and married his wife, Debra in Des Moines in 1974.

He enjoyed the time spent with his family. He loved music and watching old Western movies.
Joe is survived by his children, Jim (Michelle) Hamilton, Mike (Lisa Izzi) Hamilton, Anthony (Michele) Carra, and Joni (Jeff) Lyon; brother, Frank (Maria) Carra; sisters-in-law, Judith (Ralph Fenton) Reeder, Robin (Dick Niemeyer) Hillabolt, and Anastasia Carra; brother-in-law, Jack Russo; seven grandchildren; and numerous other loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Debra Carra in 2020; brothers, Anthony, Pete, Phillip, and Jack; and sister, Lucy.

A private graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Des Moines, Iowa.
