Jerry L. Burch

Jerry Leo Burch, age 77, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Harmony Nursing Facility in West Des Moines.

Jerry was born December 2, 1946, in Des Moines, Iowa to Bernard and Doris (Tyler) Burch.

His faith was very important to him and he was a devout Catholic. Jerry was an avid mushroom hunter and fisherman. He had some award-winning fish featured at the Iowa State Fair. He enjoyed watching the Iowa Hawkeyes, New York Yankees, and Green Bay Packers play.

He is survived by his children, Calvin (Marianna) Burch, Danny (Michelle) Burch, Abby (Joe) Cosby, and Ben (April) Burch; siblings, Bob Burch, Wayne Burch, Joe (Rusty) Burch, and Ruthie Peacock; 23 grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other extended family, and friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Doris Burch and eight brothers and sisters.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 24, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1627 Grand Avenue, West Des Moines, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
