Judith Rae Anzivino

Judith Rae Anzivino, age 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Kavanagh House in Des Moines.
Judie was born October 29, 1941, in Boone, Iowa to Hank and Nellie Claybaugh. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Judie was co-owner of Robinson Pest Control during her working years. She loved being active and traveling with her husband, David, her favorite dancing partner. She loved fishing, appreciated artwork, and was a talented artist herself. Judie treasured many memories made traveling to Hawaii and Europe with her husband, and she delighted people with her wonderful sense of humor. Judie’s grandchildren were the light of her life and she was a dedicated grandmother, planning many activities include her famous Halloween and Christmas parties and Easter egg hunts. Judie’s faith was a guiding force in her life and she was an active member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Ankeny. 
She is survived by her beloved husband, David Lee Anzivino; her children, Danny Ames, Toby Ames, Mary Anzivino, Rebekah Gerling, and Anthony Anzivino; her grandchildren, Josh Ames, Rylee McCormick, Nick Ames, Eva Ames, Andy Ames, Mark Ames, Jami English, Jessica Hamilton, Sarah Rodriguez (David), Michael Anzivino, David Anzivino, Catylyn Anzivino, Mandy Anzivino; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, June Claybaugh; as well as many extended family and friends.
Judie was preceded in death by her son, Douglas Ames; son-in-law, Steven Gerling; step-sons, David Anzivino and Peter Anzivino; parents, Hank and Nellie Claybaugh; and brothers, Darwin Claybaugh and Dale Claybaugh. 
Services will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 517 SW Des Moines Street, Ankeny, IA 50023. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Iowa Veterans Cemetery at a different time.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the family for a future designation.

Aunt Judie loved you with her whole heart and made sure we knew it! Her story telling was masterful and she kept you laughing every second you were with her. She was a beautiful soul and her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren and great grands.
