Isla Hope Hoque

Our precious daughter Isla Hope Hoque was born at just 25 weeks gestation on August 3, 2023. She was with us for only 13 days before she developed a serious infection and passed away in our arms at Blank Children’s Hospital on August 16, 2023. In the short time she was with us, she fought hard to survive and stole the hearts of many.

Isla is survived and will be forever missed by her loving parents, Chef Suman and Dr. Cynthia Hoque, very proud big brother Evan, grandmother Glenda Bossow, grandparents Fazlul and Momtaz Hoque, great-grandmother Carolyn Kramer, aunts and uncles – Sarah Williams and Alex Panhorst, Tom Williams, Annie Williams, Suruj and Shima Aktar, and Shohel and Mukta Hoque, and cousins Sinthia, Nidhi, and Sarah Ahammed and Maliha Hoque. She is also survived by many great-aunts and uncles, extended cousins, and dear friends from around the world who were so excited to meet her.

She was preceded in death by her sister Eden Celeste Hoque, grandfather Scott Williams, step-grandfather Rick Bossow, and great-grandfather LeRoy Kramer.

A graveside service and celebration of life were held on Saturday, August 26, 2023. The Hoque family would like to extend our deepest thanks to the doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses, and other team members at the UnityPoint Perinatal Center, Methodist Hospital, and Blank NICU who cared for all of us on some of the hardest days of our lives. Your kindness, compassion, and wisdom will never be forgotten.
