Inie attended the public school system in Des Moines and graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1951. Then she attended Mercy School of Nursing and graduated in 1954. Inie started her nursing career at Mercy Hospital and later she became the private surgical nurse for neurosurgeon Dr. John T. Bakody until she retired. Inie wrote many articles about medical procedures in surgery and these were published in medical journals. She received the Catherine McAuley Award for Nursing Excellence Recipient Award in 2001. Inie enjoyed making small craft items for an inner city school in Milwaukee and these items were purchased by children at the Holiday Bazaar for presents for their families.

Inie was a faithful member of St. Ambrose Cathedral since 1954 when she was confirmed. During this time, Inie was in charge of the funeral lunches and she would only use real glass dishes, cups, and real silverware. She was in charge of setting up for masses and Friday adoration services. Inie washed all the linens and ironed them for use during masses. The parish picnics were always a special project for Inie. She was a member of the prayer chain for years.

A very warm and special thank you to Right At Home and Unity Point Hospice for their excellent care with Inie.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Taylor House, St. Ambrose Cathedral or Mercy College of Health Sciences in Inie’s name.
