Goldie Eckhart

Goldie Eckhart, 83, passed away on May 13, 2024, in Dallas Center, Iowa, surrounded by her family and holding the hand of her loving husband.

Goldie was born on November 15, 1940, in Humboldt, Iowa, to Gertrude and Edwin (Bunny) Pederson. At the tender age of 16, she met the love of her life, Steve Eckhart. She and Steve married on February 7, 1960, and they spent the rest of their lives as true partners, raising a family, running a business, taking trips with their grandchildren, and enjoying play time with their great-grandchildren. Through it all, their love endured and inspired all who knew them.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Steve; children, Bruce (Carri) Eckhart, Ann (Scott) Crothers, and Bob (Tawnee) Eckhart; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Family will greet friends to celebrate Goldie’s life from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2024 at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, IA.

Goldie’s family would like to expess their heartfelt gratitude to the employees of Spurgeon Manor and Suncrest Hospice for their support, care, and compassion. Their kindness will be forever remembered by those who loved Goldie.
