Geraldine "Jerry" True

Geraldine “Jerry” True, 88, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2026. She was born on June 17, 1937, to Al and Nancy Renfro in Lake City, IA, and grew up as the youngest of eight children. While in high school, she met the love of her life Richard True and they were happily married for sixty-one years. Jerry worked for Look Magazine, Interstate Insurance, and enjoyed a long career with Bankers Trust.

Jerry’s greatest joy was spending time with her family. She and Richard enjoyed traveling in their RV while in retirement.

She is survived by her children, Brian (Laurie) True of West Des Moines, and Beth (Gus) Johnson of Harpers Ferry, IA; her granddaughter, Emily (Ryan) Schmidt of Lincoln, NE; and great-grandchildren, Abigail, Collin and Cian.

Jerry was proceeded in death by her parents, siblings, and her husband, Richard “Dick” True.

A private burial service will be held.
