Gerald “Gary” Dean Tubaugh, 90, passed away September 10, 2023 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.

He was born March 20, 1933 in Moravia, Iowa to his parents Albert and Cora (Stocker) Tubaugh. Gary grew up in Iowa and graduated from Drake University with a degree in Accounting. He retired at the age of 90 after a career in accounting. Gary enjoyed playing golf, and watching sports. He also loved his pets especially his poodle dogs also known as his girlfriends. Most of all though he loved spending time with his family. His family was very important to him and he enjoyed attending all his children’s and grandchildren’s events.

Gary is survived by his daughter, Joyce (Rick) Maly; son, Scott (Eileen) Tubaugh; grandchildren, Mike (Vanessa) Maly, Susan (James) Williems; step grandchildren, Heather Hawkins, Jennifer Crawford, Danielle Armstrong, Marissa Armstrong, and Faith Armstrong; great grandchildren, Carter Padgett, and Elise Allen; sister, Mary Tubaugh; brother, Larry Tubaugh; and many nieces, nephews, and other loving family members.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Joan (Wilcoxson) Tubaugh; his parents, Albert and Cora (Stocker) Tubaugh; sisters Carol and Betty Tubaugh.

Services will be held privately on a later date.
