George Russell Daugherty (Russ, Rucket), 63, passed away peacefully on 12/1/2024. A devoted father, grandfather, son, brother and friend, Russ was a cornerstone of kindness, wisdom, and resilience in the lives of those who knew him.

Born on 11/21/1961 to Henry and Theda. Proceeded in death by his siblings Sharon, Albert, and Tom. Russ was a man of deep integrity and quiet strength. He is survived by his sister Pam. He dedicated his life to providing for his family, instilling values of compassion and perseverance in his two children, who survive him Jessica and Brandon. Along with his grandchildren Rogelio, Keith, Georgia, Delonte, Teodoro, Katana, and Magdalena. His greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren and going on adventures with his grandson, his grandchildren’s brought laughter, love and light to his days.

Russ will be remembered for his warm smile, generous spirit, and unwavering dedication to those he held dear. He loved the simple pleasures of life: long talks with family, evenings spent reading, and quiet moments enjoying nature while fishing.

His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and all who were fortunate enough to share in his journey.

A celebration of Russ’ life will be held at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60TH Ave Des Moines IA 50313 on Sunday 12/8/2024 at 11:00 a.m.

Though he is no longer with us, Russ' legacy of love and strength will remain, a beacon of inspiration for generations to come.
