Grace Marie Grimm
October 23, 1947 — October 29, 2024
Grace transitioned from this crazy life on October 29, 2024, with her sister and a great niece by her side.
Grace came into this world with a twinkle in her eye, a smile on her face, and love in her heart on October 23, 1947, in St. Paul, Minnesota.
She was welcomed into the world by her dad and mom, Ernest and Ruth (Northway) Lilly and an older brother.
She moved to Norwoodville, Iowa in the early 1950’s where she lived until 1980, but never lost her love of Minnesota or her aunts, uncles, and cousins that lived there. She attended the Saydel school system where she made lifelong friends and loved ones.
She lived most of her life in Norwoodville where she started her own little family, before moving to Sewal, Iowa where she lived before moving back to Des Moines, where she met her husband Randy.
She had a deep love of family and friends, all things Minnesota, even the Vikings for which her little sister would relentlessly tease her about being a horrible team, she loved to make beaded jewelry, cook, read, her special flowers, going out to eat, and spending time with loved ones. Her heart was huge and she always was willing to help any and all. She could and did make friends with her special easy smile, sense of humor, and love.
Left to remember and celebrate her life is her sister Kathy (Jeff) Clark, son Jonn of Annamosa, two grandsons Austin and Corbin, two granddaughters Shelby and Rachelle, a great grandchild due in January, a very special cousin Madonna Grant of Waubay, SD, a very special lifelong friend Carol Sweet-Lappie, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in her transition by her parents, three sons Tom Molloy, Bob Lilly, and Frank Lilly, two brothers Ernie Lilly and Jim Lilly, a grandson Zach Lilly, and her husband Randy Grimm.
