David “Dave” L. Fitch, 74, of Pleasant Hill passed away on January 27, 2024.

He was born on February 14, 1949 in Des Moines.

Dave served his country proudly in the Navy as a firefighter aboard the Midway and the Oriskany. He worked for Firestone for many years retiring in 2010. Dave enjoyed his friends and family. He especially loved spending his time with nature in Northern Minnesota. He loved to help others and will be remembered for always being there for anyone who needed a friend.

He is survived by his daughters, Michelle (John) Bailey and Melissa (Katie) Driscoll; grandchildren, Jessica Bailey and Jackson Reder; sisters, Barbara (Tom) Wirth and Dunana Yanes; and brother, Martin (Sue) Fitch.

Dave was preceded in death by his biological parents, Harold Jeglum and Charlotte (Lorence); and his father, Harold Fitch.

A celebration of Dave’s life will be held on Sunday, February 18th, 2024 from 12 PM - 3 PM at The White House, 1400 Pennsylvania Ave in Des Moines, Iowa.

Memorials may be directed to UnityPoint Health - Des Moines Powell Chemical Dependency Center at Lutheran Hospital in his memory.
