Eva Wallace passed away Monday, September 23, 2024 at Westhaven Nursing Home in Boone, Iowa.

Eva was born to Curtis Elijah and Ruby (Mayne) Rudisil February 20, 1922 on her father’s birthday. Her father passed away when she was two years old. Then later, in Rice, Minnesota, her mother and she made their home in Creston, Iowa, where she grew up going to Creston schools and graduated from high school. She learned to play the violin and played in the church orchestra. Later on, she played the organ and piano for church services. Eva taught a Sunday school class when she was thirteen years old.

A romance started in grade school when she met her future husband, M. Donald Wallace. They were married April 26, 1942 and shortly after moved to Des Moines, Iowa. Leonard M. Wallace was born in 1946 followed by his brother, Lowell Donald in 1952. Eva and Donald worked together towing travel trailers all over the United states and had many wonderful memories of vacationing in 48 of the states. In addition, she worked with Donald in electronics and could repair many small appliances. She also had been employed at Boone’s Book and Bible Store in Des Moines.

Eva enjoyed crocheting, reading the Bible, and collecting angels, shells and birds. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a great delight to her.

She is survived by her son, Leonard (Deborah) Wallace; grandchildren, Timothy Wallace, Deanna (Michael) Pearson, Jeremy (Carolyn) Wallace, Valerie Wallace, and Lindsay Wallace; eleven great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and many friends at Westhaven in Boone where she lived for 15 years and was given wonderful love and care.

She is predeceased by her parents, husband Donald, and her infant son Lowell.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, Iowa with visitation from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Memorials will be distributed at the discretion of the family.
