Edward Franklin Meek

Edward Franklin Meek, 62, passed away unexpectedly due to natural causes at his home on September 11, 2025.

Edward was born on October 25, 1962, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Richard and Rita (Merrigan) Meek. He graduated from East High School in 1982 and went on to work in the warehouse at Storey Kenworthy for many years. Known for his easygoing personality, Edward loved to chat and was always ready to give his friends a hard time. He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, and riding motorcycles.

Edward is survived by his loving wife, Wendi Anderson-Meek; his children, John (Trisha) Sparks, Anthony (Nicole) Sparks, and Mary Sparks; grandchildren, Natalie, Nathan, Noah, Logan, Nicholas, Kaitlyn, Kloe, and Macy; his sister, Lisa Hegwood; nephews, Anthony Woxell and James Meek; nieces, Sue Ann Lane and Teddy Nelson; as well as a host of other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, James (Sandra) Meek; and his mother-in-law, Judith Simpson.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.
