Earl Pothast

Earl Gene Pothast, 73, passed away October 19, 2023 in Des Moines, Iowa.

He was born October 22, 1950 to Merle and Doris Pothast in Marshalltown, Iowa. Earl worked for 35 years in production manufacturing.

Earl is survived by his wife, Sharon (Cox) Pothast; brother, Russell Pothast; and mother-in-law, Mary Cox.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother-in-law and best friend, Ray Cox.

Services will be held Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue Des Moines, Iowa.

Memorial contributions can be made to the family of Earl Pothast in his loving memory.

Sharon I am so very sorry to hear about my great friend of many years passing. We had a lot of good times and laughs together throughout the years. I've really missed him and thought of him often. Again so deeply sorry for the loss of Earl. (One of the best guys I've ever known)
