Dustin Gene Little

Dustin Gene Little, 55, passed away on September 24, 2023, at MercyOne Hospital.

Dustin was born on May 22, 1968, in Des Moines, Iowa to Frederick and Della (Hamrick) Little. He graduated from Lincoln High School and earned an HVAC certification from Trade School.

He is a hard worker, knowledgeable, artistic, and a great listener. He could fix anything. He enjoyed his morning coffee, working with his hands, being in the vegetable garden, watching movies, pro wrestling, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He enjoyed grilling and cooking, especially hot sausage sandwiches. He loved Harley Davidson motorcycles and dreamed of having one of his own. Above all else, he treasured time spent with his family, the weekends were always spent together. He absolutely loved playing with his grandchildren and attending all their sporting events.

Dustin is survived by his mother, Della Wilder; children, Mitchell (Emily McNeeley) Little, Diedre (Rodney Holliday) Little, and Kendra Little; grandchildren, Jamison Little, Amara Brown, Avontae Brown, Colton McNeeley, and Scarlette Little; sister, Dina Little; niece, Shawna Walker; nephew, Josh Nail; great-nephew, Ralph Walker; and great-nieces, Lucy Walker, Sophia Nail, and Julie Nail.

He is preceded in death by his father, Fred Little.

Funeral services will be held at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street, Des Moines, Iowa on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at 12:00 p.m., with visitation prior, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
