Duane Eugene Putney

Duane Putney, 71, of Stuart, Iowa, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 26, 2024, at the Iowa Veteran’s Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.

Duane was born July 25, 1952, in Guthrie Center, to Clarence and Fern (Emmons) Putney. He grew up in Menlo and graduated from Menlo High School. Duane served our country in USMC from 1971 – 1975.

On June 26, 1976, he was united in marriage to Linda of Des Moines.

Duane enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, hunting, camping and traveling. He loved learning from Les Feldick (a bible scholar) which gave him in-depth about God’s word.

Duane was a very giving man. He created a clothing drive and looked for ways to help others. He shared his knowledge of the bible and wanted everyone to know about salvation.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 47 years, Linda; son, Joshua (Alyssa); grandchildren, Scarlett and Hunter; siblings, Donna (Larry) and Janice; along with several nieces and nephews.

Duane was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Clifford and Rolland Putney and Linda Sudbrock.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday May 2, 2024 at Calvary Assembly of God, 916 State Street in Dexter, Iowa with visitation one hour prior. Burial at Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter, IA.
