Donna Rector

Donna Rector, 81, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on June 23, 2026.

Donna was born July 22, 1944, in Des Moines. She graduated from Lincoln High School. Donna worked in data entry at CDS for many years. She enjoyed doing puzzles, going shopping and also going to garage sales. Donna loved long car rides and trips with her daughter Dawn. Above all else, she enjoyed time spent with her family.

Donna is survived by her daughter, Dawn (Jack) Foster; son, Dustin (Tammy) Rector; grandchildren, Dalton Avenarius, Colton and Gavin Rausch, Kylie Schmitt, Kameron and Kolton Rector; great-grandson, Connor Schmitt; step-sister, Joyce Kimzey; her best friend for over 60 years, Mary Conrath and her Family; and Donna’s dog, Lily Belle.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Dixie Burgoyne and Diane Feiling.

The family will greet friends Monday, June 29, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Cremation will take place following services and Donna will be laid to rest at Moravia Cemetery in Moravia, Iowa at a later date.
