Diana “Sis” Beckman

Diana “Sis” Frances Beckman (McLaughlin), age 76, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2026, after a long battle with illness and infection. She was surrounded by love.
Diana was born on July 3, 1949, to Joel D. and Donnamae Irene (Saltzman) McLaughlin in Des Moines, Iowa, where she lived most of her life.
Diana was loved by all who knew her. She was an avid football fan and proudly supported the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Kansas City Chiefs. She enjoyed traveling, bingo, bowling, and darts.
She built a successful 30-year career with Wells Fargo, retiring in 2010.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Gary Beckman and Jim DeBonis; brother, Danny (Peggy) McLaughlin; sister, Donita (Gary) Beem; uncle, Fay “Bud” Saltzman; great-nephew, Omar Villa; former husband, Samuel Ed Hicks; and many extended family members.
She is survived by her children, Tammy Rae Simpson, Darwin Geyer Jr., Joel Geyer Sr., Marla Fowler, and Joel Geyer Jr.; siblings, Daryl McLaughlin (Pam), Denisa Gonzalez (Jesus), and Drew McLaughlin Sr. (Julie); 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and more than 75 nieces and nephews, along with many great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Diana left her mark on everyone she met and will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens,121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m., with graveside burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, 1 NE 60th Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa.

It was an honor to know Diana and learn so much about her. She loved her family and spoke so much of them. My days will forever have a void in them. May you rest now my friend. Thinking of her friends and family during this time. I love you more.
