Deborah J. Cipale
May 16, 1964 — November 30, 2023
Deborah J. Cipale, 59, passed away on November 30, 2023, at UnityPoint Methodist Hospital.
Deborah was born on May 16, 1964, in Webster City, Iowa to John and Donna (Andrew) Larson. She married Angelo R. Cipale in 1994. She continued her education and earned her Doctorate. She enjoyed reading, helping people, and family gatherings. Her favorite holiday was Thanksgiving because it was a time for the family and friends to gather. She was the humblest person you would ever meet and did so many good things for people that nobody ever knew about.
Deborah is survived by her husband of 29 years, Angelo R. Cipale; son, Angelo J. Cipale; siblings, Nicolette (Richard) Stubberud and Daniel (Kelly) Larson; father, John Larson; fur babies, Chester, Moose, and Meatball; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Donna Larson; father-in-law, Angelo F. Cipale; niece and nephew, Hannah and Noah Stubberud.
A private visitation will be held at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street, Des Moines, Iowa.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Deborah.

I had the privilege of knowing Deb for a decade. I was always so impressed with how intelligent she was, and how dedicated she was to both her family and to educating nursing students. I loved that Deb had a wonderful sense of humor and I spent an inordinate amount of time sending her funny/stupid cat memes! Deb's passing leaves a hole in my life and lives of our UIU students.
You are and always will be greatly missed,

Deb was such an inspiration and her passion for students shown through in everything she did. She recently helped my daughter (who is not even a UIU student) with terrific advice and suggestions about test taking in her nursing program. Deb was so kind and thoughtful that she did not skip a beat in offering to work with my daughter and her advice worked perfectly. She is sorely missed. Our thought and prayers continue to be with the family.

Please know that you all are in our prayers. When I lived in Webster City, Ia during 1981 I met Deb. This was a time in my life I needed laughter and boy she provided that. I will never forget that year of my life. She called me Missouraaah.
I was so proud of her becoming a nurse and pursuing her dream.
Thank you for the laughter Deb. Love you to the moon and back.
