Deanna McCurdy

Deanna Kay McCurdy, 74, passed away December 24, 2025.

She was born March 16, 1951.

De was very dedicated. She was a dedicated wife, daughter, sister, friend, and employee. She worked for Younkers for many years. De was a great cook and an even better baker. Later in life she discovered a love for art. She would spend many happy hours coloring in adult coloring books. De’s smile was warm and her laugh was contagious. She will be deeply missed by those who loved her.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis McCurdy; step daughter, Denise McCurdy, brothers, Lonnie (Sharon) Heldonbrand and Stan Heldonbrand; nieces and nephew, Katelyn, Adam, and Faith; brother-in-law, Steve (Amy) Beveridge; sisters-in-law, Pam Beveridge and Carol Cilver; uncle, Harold (Jane) Heldenbrand; and a host of other loving family members.

De was preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law, Bob Beveridge; and sister-in-law, Ellen Steinburger

Memorial visitation will be held Sunday, January 4, 2025 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines. Memorial service will take place the following day Monday, January 5, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. also at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Orilla, Iowa.
