Davina Tilden

July 03, 1984 — April 07, 2026

Service Details

On Tuesday, April 7, 2026, Davina ended her earthly struggle and entered Heaven, free from pain and suffering. Her strength and stubborn spirit carried her through nearly four weeks of hardship before her passing.

Davina will always be remembered for her infectious laugh and her beautiful, radiant smile—gifts that brought joy to everyone around her. A kind and gentle soul, she leaves behind a love that will never fade. Those who knew her take comfort in imagining her in Heaven, arms wide open, grinning with excitement, ready to welcome her family and friends—and, of course, talking endlessly as she always loved to do.

She never met a stranger. Wherever she went, Davina seemed to know someone, and even if a name slipped her mind, she never forgot a face. She had a natural gift for conversation and connection, always eager to introduce herself and make others feel seen and valued.

Davina found joy in life’s simple and vibrant moments. She loved to dance, attend concerts to hear her favorite bands, and watch fireworks light up the sky. She was an avid bowler and proudly placed second several times in the Special Olympics. Time spent with family and friends meant everything to her, whether it was lively conversation or simply being together. A true movie lover, Davina made it a tradition to go to the movies every Saturday. Her favorites included Dirty Dancing, which she could nearly recite line for line, and Home Alone.

Davina is survived by her loving mother, Georgeann (Tom) Voigt; her sister, Danielle Gorla; her cherished nieces, Hailey Gorla and Ash Gorla; her grandmother, Evy Coon; her stepmother, Vickie Tilden; her step-siblings, Albert, Shane, Eric Voigt, Tesserae Falkstrom, and Damon Groth; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins who will forever hold her memory close.

She was preceded in death by her father, David Tilden.

Forty-one years was not nearly enough time to share with Davina, and she will be deeply and forever missed. Each day, her family feels the weight of her absence. She was her mother’s heart, and her sister is her mother’s soul. Though living without her heart is an unimaginable loss, that soul—and the love and laughter of Hailey and the vibrant energy of Ash—will help guide the family toward healing.

Davina, keep that beautiful smile shining and those conversations flowing. Always remember how deeply you are loved.

Family will be greeting friends from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home; 5400 SW 9th Street, Des Moines, Iowa. Funeral service will immediately be following the visitation at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be directed to family.
