David Lee Johnson

David Lee Johnson, 71, passed away on May 22, 2024.
He was born on October 2, 1952 to Malcom and Margaret (Foreman) Johnson. He graduated from Lincoln High School. David served his country in Vietnam as an infantryman and received an honorable discharge after completing a tour in the Army. His civilian occupation was as a mechanic, salesman, and shop foreman of semi-trucks and large vehicles.
In his earlier years he enjoyed pheasant hunting and fishing, he spent later years riding his motorcycle, going on drives in his corvette with his girlfriend Julie, and watching the races. He cared deeply for his Family. He supported his children at sporting and work events, enjoyed building model cars and airplanes for his children and grandchildren, and rarely missed an opportunity to meet them for ice cream. He will be greatly missed by his friends and Family.
David is survived by his girlfriend Julie Bailey, sons, Josh (Meredith), Nathan and Kyle Johnson; grandchildren, Austin and Cohen Johnson; and sister Kathy (Rick) Ruby.
He is preceded in death by his parents Malcom and Margaret Johnson, and Sister Jackie (Disbrow)
A graveside service will take place on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at 11:00 a.m., at Iowa Veterans Cemetery, 34024 Veterans Memorial Dr., Adel, Iowa

I’m so sorry to hear of Dave’s passing. We worked together at Inland Truck Parts. He taught me a lot about trucks. We sure will miss him coming in to have a coffee and shoot the breeze.

So sorry for your loss- I worked with Dave at McKenna Truck Center- we had lunch together several days per week, a lot of great memories! So many laughs! RIP my Friend!
