Daniel Clark McClelland, 71, passed away December 6, 2025.

He was born March 20, 1954 in Des Moines, Iowa to his parents, Frederick and Iola McClelland. As a vocal music major, Dan was very active musically both during and after college. From cymbals in the marching band to his beloved twelve string guitar in church to rocking it out on the drum kit with local Des Moines band, “Town and Country”, his eclectic taste and love for people and music rang loudly. Dan also worked at Nebraska Furniture Mart for many years before retiring.

Dan enjoyed spending time with friends and family. He was a very kind soul to others and his pets. Dan will be deeply missed by those who loved him.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Angela McClelland; children, Scott Lauritsen and Maxwell (Jennifer) McClelland; siblings, Donald (Robbin) McClelland and Michael NoHeart; dog, Chata; and cat, Trouble.

Dan was preceded in death by his son, Ryan McClelland; parents; and sister, Vonda McClelland.

Family will hold a Celebration of Life later in the Spring 2026.
