Donna F. Weesner

Donna Fern Weesner, 68, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines surrounded by her family.

Donna was born January 12, 1956, in Des Moines, Iowa to Donald E. and Fern N. (Swift) Higdon. She was a lifelong resident of the Des Moines area.

She was last employed by Veterans Memorial Auditorium in their concessions department, retiring in 2006.

She was a member of Reorganized Latter Day Saints (Community of Christ Church).

She enjoyed watching old movies and television shows, white tigers, collecting porcelain dolls, drinking coffee, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Donald Weesner (wife Brenda Routh), Kevin Weesner, and Angalina Harris (Suquando Duke); grandchildren, Debbie, Hunter, Roman, Joseph, Deshawn, Hailey, and Maverick (on the way).

Donna was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Dennis Higdon.

Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. followed by funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Burial will take place at Berwick Cemetery after the funeral service.
