David A. Nelson

David Allen Nelson passed away on October 23, 2024, in Johnston, Iowa, at the age of 80. He was born on May 7, 1944, in Humboldt, Iowa, to the late Glen Robert Nelson and Marion Beryl (Jensen) Nelson.

David owned and operated Interior Commercial Systems, a drywall business, and maintained a farm in Saint Charles, Iowa, until 2018. Known for his keen attention to financial responsibility, he also enjoyed listening to religious music. He held a pilot's license and found joy in his many interests over the years.

David is survived by his daughter, Tia T. Nelson of Gilbert, Arizona, and her child, Quinn Nelson-Romero; his daughter Tonya Rae Hotz (Vincent) of Tucson, Arizona, and her children Logan, Seagan, and Sheridan Rerecich. He is also survived by his brother, Grant Robert Nelson (Maxine) of Des Moines, Iowa, and his sister, Connie Nelson (Ron Williams) of Buffalo, Missouri.

David was preceded in death by his daughter, Tami Lea Nelson of Gilbert, Arizona; his granddaughter, Addison Elise "Addie" Rerecich of Tucson, Arizona; his brother, James Glen Nelson (survived by Helen) of Ankeny, Iowa; his sister, Harriet Ann Nelson of Buffalo, Missouri; and his close friend, Edris Williams of Des Moines, Iowa.

David was cremated at Hamilton Funeral Home, and his final resting place will be at Union Cemetery in Humboldt, Iowa, near his parents, at a later date.
