David McCartney

David Frank McCartney, age 66, passed away Friday, March 29, 2024, at his home in Collins, Iowa.

David was born October 28, 1957, in Franklin, PA to Donald and Mary McCartney.

He proudly served his country in the United States Marines. He was a carpenter and member of Carpenter’s Local Union 106 in Altoona.

David was a champion dart and pool player and there was no one who could beat him. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. David enjoyed traveling, especially to see family. He was always up for a road trip, either in a car or on his motorcycle, and had been to Sturgis a few times. David was kind and would give you the shirt off his back. He was always willing to help anyone and volunteered his time to countless people.

He is survived by his children, Casey McCartney and David McCartney II; his significant other, Alicia Lanas; grandchildren, Omar, Miguel, Jessica, and Enmanuel; sisters, Brenda, Donna, and Ruth; and his brother, John.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of David.
