Diane Marie Lester

With a gentle touch of faith and love, we honor the memory of Diane Marie Lester, who peacefully transitioned to her heavenly home on April 11, 2024, in Des Moines, Iowa, at the age of 73. Born on August 22, 1950, in Des Moines, IA. Diane's life was a testament to the boundless power of love and faith. Diane was known for her kind, loving, and caring nature. She was a dedicated wife, an amazing mother and grandmother, and family meant everything to her. She was selfless, always putting others' needs before her own, and was adored by her grandkids. Diane's faith was paramount in her life, and she was an inspiration to many.
Diane is survived by her husband Gerald (Jerry) Lester, children John (Julie) Smart, Gerald Lester Jr., Terry Bacon, Wendy (Donny) Reinig, Kristina (Richard) Blair, Charity (Michael) Hansen, Anthony (Sarah) Lester, Tammie (Mark) Hermosillo, Hunter Lester, along with 20+ grandchildren, many-many great-grandchildren, her siblings Rita, Bob, and Ron, and many family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Ramona Daniels, grandparents, and brother-in-law Joe Goode.
Diane's career involved working in the mailroom at Hawkeye Security Insurance and Aviva. She found solace in worship at Faith Independent Assembly. In her leisure time, Diane enjoyed baking, cooking, watching her kids and grandbabies play sports, shopping, getting coffee, spending time with family, worshiping, and hanging out with her Bestie!
Services for Diane will be held with a viewing on Friday, April 19, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines, IA. The funeral will take place on Saturday April 20, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Hamilton's, followed by burial services at Laurel Hill Cemetery. A luncheon/reception following the burial will be held at Sundry Church, 4100 6th Avenue, Des Moines, IA.
