Doug Kelly

Douglas Alan Kelly, Sr., age 68, passed away Friday, December 22, 2023, of natural causes at his home in Des Moines.

Doug was born March 31, 1955, in Davenport, Iowa to James and Charlotte Kelly. He was employed with Allied Oil and Supply as a supervisor for over 30 years. He also served in the Iowa Air National Guard. Doug enjoyed sprint cars, hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Georgette; son, Douglas Kelly, Jr.; step-son, Greg (Angie) Blomgren; grandchildren, Tanner (Katie) Smith, Ethan Kelly, Cassady Kelly, Andrew Blomgren, Ally Blomgren, and Avery Blomgren; great-grandchildren, Tatum and Ophelia; brothers, Jason Kelly and Jim (Lori) Kelly; and a host of nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents, James and Charlotte Kelly; and his sister, Bambi Kirchner.

There will be a celebration of life at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions would be appreciated to the family for a future designation.

Uncle Doug thank you, theres not a moment in my life that you haven't been right there or just a phone call away. I'm crying and cursing trying to find what to say, you'd be laughing at me by now. Your blunt honesty, your humor and your hugs is what I'll miss the most. Hug my mom for me. (See you later alligator) after while crocodile.
